Project Abstract: This apartment building has a very attractive exterior façade and did so even prior to renovation. One of the most attractive features was a series of stacked decks supported by large Corinthian-inspired columns. Selective demolition revealed that the structure of the decks was nearing failure due to weathering over the many decades of its lifetime. The building owner, having recently acquired the building, elected to preserve the safety of the building, rather than the decks. We were asked to remove the decks, but to refit the new face of the building with architectural details to match the original.
